Wireless Zero Acting Oddly?

Thursday, December 27th, 2007
bldigmaster asked:

Problem 1: Wireless Zero
Even though I turn it on “automatic” it turns off when I restart, return from hibernate, or even come back from stand by! The worst part is that it turns off randomly too. Can someone help me with this?

Problem 2: Wireless Network connection Properties.
Every time that the wireless zero turns off the “wireless networks” tab disappears, and when wireless zero turns back on the “Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings” becomes unchecked, and it is needed for me to use my wireless.

I appreciate all help, as this is getting very annoying (I have a dell warranty, so I can call them if it is unfix able, but I would like to hold off from that for as long as I can.)

Internet connection problem with Linksys WRT54G. Help please?

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007
Erick asked:

okay, here are the details.

I have 2 laptops and 6 desktops, (one is server). I have Linksys WRT54G (wireless connection for the 2 laptops) and a hub labeled CNet 8 Port switch (LAN for the desktops). Hub is wire-connected to Linksys and linksys is wire-connected to the DSL, connecting them to net

It’s been working great, then the other day, internet got disconnected. desktops and laptops can’t connect to the internet. LAN is working, but no internet.

When I called our net connection (service) provider, he said that our DSL is connected to the internet. He advised me to connect one desktop (server) directly to DSL. When I tried it, I got connected.

I tried to connect the hub directly to DSL and other desktops got connected too. I concluded that the problem is Linksys because bypassing it solves the internet connection problem.

Is my conclusion right? If I am right, what’s wrong with Linksys and how am i suppose to fix it? if not, then what’s the problem and how do i fix it? thanks

Wireless internet connecting and disconnecting?

Sunday, December 23rd, 2007
creancfc asked:

Hello,

I’ve currently just got wireless internet. The wireless router I’m using is BT Voyager 2091 supplied brand new today from BT. I have got it all set up and working with the internet, one computer running wired via ethernet and the other computer wireless using Belkin top USB wireless adaptor. They both can connect to the modem and access the internet. I’ve also got WEP security on the router, now when the wireless computer searches for wireless it finds a linksys router in the area but when I’m on the internet using my BT Voyager router it comes up down beside the clock “One or more wireless’s are available” and then I’ve to go and click my wireless modem again to reconnect. Is there any way to keep this modem the primary and keep it connected all the time?

Regards,

P.S I’ve got an idea with computers but this is bothering me.

JustaFewQuestions asked:

I’m currently using the linksys router with the linksys PC Card attached to my laptop. My aunt recently gave me the netgear router which from the reviews I read, should be better than the linksys router. I know how to connect the routers, but will this netgear router work with my current pc card, my internal wireless card, or do I need to purchase a new wireless-g pc card?

Linksys wag200g installed on dell e520,dell network assistant expired and i cannot access gateway control?

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007
KMc asked:

when i installed the linksys gateway i took the option of leaving the wireless option switched off. now i want to switch it on as i have finally got a wireless card (linksys) for my ancient laptop (dell 7000). i cannot find any files on my computer called linksys so i’m afraid that the network/gateway settings are only stored in dell network assistant and that i will lose them if i remove it, rather than give dell or whoever $40 to continue.

Hi, I have a Compaq wireless and wireless network set up but I encountered a problem, on Thu night it was working fine then I switched laptop off, went back on Fri morning and it wasn’t working, the orange light is on saying wireless is de-activated and won’t switch on and when I click the wireless assistant it won’t open, nor does any network connections see the wireless yet I can detect the wireless via my mobile so I know the wireless is working in the room, I don’t know how to go about getting the wireless button on laptop to turn on?
Hi, when I click to enable it it says it is connecting but then comes up after 60 seconds to say disabled

Linksys Router - How to go from the phone jack (dsl connection) to the cat5 ethernet on the router?

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007
axelstudios asked:

I’m replacing a 2wire router and a 2wire modem(?) that splits the phone jack to the phone, and to the router.

I just bought a linksys WRT54GS router, but I don’t have anything to go from the phone jack to the cat5 internet port on the linksys router. Do I need some kind of converter/splitter to go from the jack to an ethernet cable, or a linksys modem or something?
