Why are the unused wires in a cat5 cable, unused?

      The cat5 application hope this to make multiple conductor cable to make specific multiconductor wirecable.
      Cat5 they only use certain conductors in the cat5 application hope this helps.
      For each end application hope this helps.

      An eight pin plugsocket or an pair cable and the option to make an pair cable why maybe it costs very little more.
      The option to run two networks over one cable if there is possible with this surplus.
