can i use cat5 wire to make breadboard jumpers?

i have recently run out of wires to use as jumpers, and i need them faster than buying them. i have some spare cat5 cables lying around, am i ok to take the insulation off and just strip the ends and twist the individual threads to use them as jumpers?

      Yes it probably will work fine - it is pretty small guage though but it probably will work.
